How many fish in a biOrb aquarium?

You have a biOrb aquarium or you are planning to buy one and you are wondering how many fish will be able to live in it? Then, this guide is here for that. We will see together the number of fish that you will be able to place, according to the biOrb model.

There are different ranges of biOrb aquariums, each with a different shape and divided into several capacities listed below:

15L/30L/35L/45L/60L/105L.

The species and quantities of fish that you can integrate into the aquarium will vary, depending on its volume, the larger the volume, the greater the quantity of possible fish will be. The fish presented for small volume aquariums can of course be introduced into larger aquariums, their maximum quantity evolving with the size of the aquarium. Obviously, you should not mix all the species below without a fairly large volume or if you are not sure of the possibility of peaceful cohabitation.

15 Liter biOrb :

For a 15L aquarium, the choice of animals that can be placed is quite limited, because the fish species cannot live with sufficient well-being in such a small volume, it is nevertheless possible to integrate some species of shrimp.

  • Some species of shrimp can adapt quite easily to an aquarium of this size. In particular, the Neocaridina from the family of the same name which is composed of several species and therefore exists in several different colors. Since these animals are gregarious (living in groups), this allows you to add life to your small biOrb.

These are the only animals that can live in a 15L aquarium in small quantities, without their well-being and therefore their health being affected. For an aquarium of this size it will generally be advisable to place only decorative aquatic plants rather than animal species (except for small shrimp of course).

    biOrb 30 and 35 Liters :

For a 30L/35L aquarium this time, the quantity and variety of species that can be present will be slightly greater. Here are some species that could acclimate in a 30L/35L aquarium.

    • The Betta Splendens, better known as the fighting fish, is a popular fish thanks to its many different colors and whose male is very territorial, which can live as a couple in a 30L / 35L aquarium provided that the water parameters are regularly checked and that the aquarium in question is cleaned regularly. Be careful though, the betta is not a fish that can be placed with any other species of fish and especially not two betta males together!

    • Killies, which are a family of fish divided into several subspecies and are quite colorful and lively fish that can live together with three inhabitants for 30 or 35L. There are many species, very colorful in general and which sometimes have spotted patterns along the body.

      45 Liter biOrb:

As for a 45L aquarium the capacity in number and species increases a little more, giving you more possibilities of varieties in the aquarium, here are some:

      • One or more members of the Corydoras family could be a nice addition to your biOrb bubble, this is actually a grouping of dwarf catfish species. They can mostly live in groups of 2-3 individuals for this volume.

      • Guppies, a well-known fish in aquariums, are fish that come in a multitude of different colors and some of which have a magnificent veil with diverse and varied patterns. These fish must live in small groups of at least 3-4 (ideally to be increased, depending on the volume of the pond).

      • The different species of tetraodon are small fish that have the particularity of being able to "inflate" themselves when they are afraid, they are in fact from the family of puffer fish. So in theory you are not supposed to see them inflate, but they are still beautiful little fish for your biOrb, depending on the species chosen, they can live alone or up to three individuals.

      60 Liter biOrb:

      • The small Gourami are very calm fish that particularly like to blend in among the plants, which makes them fit particularly well into the multiple possible scenes in a biOrb aquarium.

      • Rasbora are small schooling fish that like to live on the surface and care little for other species. They will bring life and movement to your aquarium.

      • Ramirezi are small, colorful fish that live in pairs and particularly appreciate vegetation and hiding places that allow them to live in peace. They come in many colors.

      105 Liter biOrb:

      • Some species of barbs, which are small striped fish that can thrive in small schools, can quite adapt to a 105L aquarium, in groups of 5-6.
      • The Zebra Danios, commonly called zebrafish, is a fairly sober fish, but very lively and active which lives in schools of around ten individuals for around a hundred litres.

      • Some neon tetras (or blue neon), are small fish very well known, if not the best known in aquariophily and even by people totally beginners in the field. These are fish that need to be placed in groups of at least 10 individuals to be happy in your aquarium.

Here, with these few suggestions you should now have some ideas on which fish or at least what kind of species would be suitable for your biOrb, depending on its size. But do not forget that there are of course many other species of fish and even animals (like shrimps) that could be suitable in some of the existing volumes in the biOrb aquarium range.
