Why is my water lily not blooming? Why I only have a few water lily flowers. Do you own a pond and do you have water lilies? To improve the flowering of water lilies, there are some good practices to adopt.
In this micro-guide to growing water lilies , you will find good advice for having as many flowers as possible throughout the season.
Water lilies (nymphaea) are a genus of aquatic plants, also called pond stars. Visible from March through September, these water lily plants bear flat, plate-like leaves that rest on the surface of the water, from which pink, yellow, or white flowers appear from June through September.
There are a wide variety of water lily plants to choose from - most grow best in ponds and lakes, but there are dwarf types that can be grown in very small garden ponds.
Some best practices:
Water lilies need calm water and full sun. Choose the right water lily for your pond – there are several types, each type requiring a specific planting depth. First place your water lily on a 20cm deep brick "pedestal", then lower it gradually over the growing season. In autumn, cut the dead foliage of hardy water lilies and let them die at the bottom of the pond.

Excessive foliage spreading over the surface of the water, and small and few flowers generally indicate too high a density, you must divide the water lily, or tear off some leaves to make room for the flowers.
