• The correct CO2 concentration in the aquarium water is monitored on the supplied Permanent CO2/pH test display and can be readjusted if necessary.

Food for aquarium plants
Plants provide the aquarium with oxygen, which is vital for its inhabitants, prevent algae growth, remove harmful substances, offer hiding places for animals, and reduce pathogenic germs. The JBL fertilization system supplies plants with CO2, their main nutrient, through the water. Plants absorb it and, with the help of light, convert it into sugar and oxygen during photosynthesis.

Easy installation
The system is ready to connect, except for the CO2 bottle, which is not included in the kit. Screw the regulator onto the CO2 bottle and connect it via the hose from the solenoid valve to the bubble counter (including check valve), then to the reactor in the aquarium. CO2 thus enters the aquarium and is dissolved in the water by the reactor. The CO2 supply can be interrupted at night by the solenoid valve installed in between (nighttime shutoff: not included). The permanent CO2/pH test continuously displays the amount of CO2 dissolved in the water, which can be readjusted if necessary.

The range of a CO2 system depends on several factors. The essential elements are carbonate hardness, the quantity and type of plants, and the strength of surface water movement. A 500 g bottle that is not interrupted at night by a solenoid valve lasts about 4 months with basic adjustment. Recyclable single-use CO2 bottles can be purchased individually or in a more advantageous pack of 3.
The supplied regulator is compatible with both JBL rechargeable bottles (System M, thread type W21.8x1/14) and JBL single-use bottles (System U, thread type M10x1).
