- The powerful Tetra FilterJet aquarium filter is suitable for aquariums with a volume of 50 to 230 liters, the water of which it cleans perfectly thanks to both mechanical and biological filtration. It thus removes dirt particles of all sizes, establishing a biological balance conducive to pure aquarium water. Mechanical filtration removes large impurities from the water by sucking up, for example, sludge from the substrate as well as suspended solids, such as algae and plant waste. The nitrifying bacteria in the filter, however, play an even more important role. These helpful bacteria colonize the filter substrate and break down harmful ammonia and nitrites into nitrates. This is an essential step in the process of biological filtration and natural degradation within aquariums. This internal filter is also particularly quiet. The extremely simple installation of the Tetra FilterJet filter allows it to be operational in seconds. Thanks to the adjustable outlet nozzle, the water circulation can be optimally regulated so that the entire aquarium receives even aeration. Another advantage of the Tetra FilterJet internal aquarium filter: its filter sponge is very easy to clean, which significantly reduces the time spent on filter maintenance. Do not wash the filter material in hot water as this will harm the beneficial bacteria that colonize the filter. Also, never use chemical cleaners on the filter. To sustainably protect the bacteria population of the filter, we recommend that you do not clean the filter during a partial water change.
