ProTerra JBL Fructil - Basic fruit food for a varied diet of all tortoises

• 47% fruit rate for natural diet, because in nature, land turtles eat a lot of fruit that has fallen from trees.
• High palatability induced by natural fruit odor and colors. Turtles respond strongly to attractive odors. Palatability is very important, especially in newly acquired animals, so that they obtain energy quickly.
• Balanced mixture of natural fruit and purely vegetable slices (diameter approx. 1 cm, with fruit and alfalfa, spinach, beetroot, thyme, basil and other herbs), as the mixture generates a species-appropriate diet.
• Contents: dried fruits (blackcurrant, apple, blackberry, barberry) and vegetable slices with natural vitamins and minerals. No added colorings or preservatives.
• Contents: 1 waterproof and light-proof box, freshness seal, containing a fruit and vegetable food, size approx. 5 to 20 mm. Measuring cup in the lid.

Tortoises are real foodies and won't eat just anything, but they do like some things that they shouldn't eat. For example, tomatoes, bananas, citrus fruits and meaty food are a no-no. The composition of the JBL PROTERRA food range was developed in collaboration with Petra Kölle, a veterinarian at the University of Munich, and with specialist tortoise breeders.

The palatability tests clearly showed that the turtles clearly preferred the food from the JBL PROTERRA range to all other foods offered. Because even if a food has a perfect composition from a nutritional physiological point of view, it must first be accepted by the animal! This is particularly the case with JBL PROTERRA FRUCTIL thanks to the natural aroma and fruit colours.

With the JBL PROTERRA FRUCTIL, your turtles get an ideal complete food. Of course, you can also collect greenery and herbaceous plants in summer to supplement the basic diet. The other JBL PROTERRA food varieties: VEGABIL, HERBIL and FLORSIL are an ideal and species-appropriate supplement to the JBL PROTERRA FRUCTIL. Variety is welcome for all turtles.

Observations made about their lifestyle and feeding habits are incorporated into the development of JBL food varieties. This information, taken directly from nature, is extremely valuable, as it is hardly available otherwise.
The aim should always be to care for animals in a way that respects the needs of their species and ideally to ensure their offspring in order to reduce the number of animals taken from the wild. The reproduction of some species is certainly not absolutely necessary, because the species sold in the trade are bred or their population is not endangered, but JBL considers it desirable to ensure the reproduction of pets.
