Biological filter medium for nitrate removal

sera siporax Nitrate-minus Professional is a high-performance filter medium for the biological breakdown of nitrates, as well as nitrites and ammonium. Denitrification is optimally increased and maximized by the biopolymer ball adapted to the siporax ring. The degradable biopolymer serves as a carbon source for denitrification bacteria.

The biopolymer ball not only maximizes the biological filtration performance of the unique sintered glass tube but also increases filter maintenance intervals in two ways. In addition to removing harmful substances, the special structure of the ball optimizes water flow, thereby improving the transport of substances to the siporax ring inside it. Thus, sera siporax Nitrate-minus Professional is a long-lasting filter medium that requires virtually no maintenance. The number of water changes can also be reduced. Water parameters can be improved with siporax Nitrate-minus Professional, particularly in large community aquariums and/or cichlid aquariums with a large number of fish.

sera siporax Nitrate-minus Professional can be combined with existing siporax products, such as siporax Professional, siporax mini Professional, and siporax pond Professional, while increasing the breakdown of harmful substances through the addition of carbon.

The biopolymer balls are broken down by bacteria over time and dissolve. To renew the carbon source, simply replace them.

Note: In aquariums containing only plants or in tanks with dense vegetation, which therefore have high nitrogen requirements, this filter medium may make additional NPK fertilization necessary (e.g., with sera flore 4 plant).
