A wind organ is a musical instrument made up of hollow tubes of different lengths that are "played" by the wind. These outdoor objects are often simultaneously designed as sculptures.

The origin of hanging wind chimes is found in India. In the 2nd century, wind organs were used there to drive out evil spirits from the pagodas. Later the use spread to China where they were hung in temples, palaces and homes.
