The water first passes through the first cassette, which contains a UV-C module, an aerator (Silenta 300) and possibly a heating module (Pond Heater 300) as an option, and then passes through 3 removable cassettes containing masses filtering. The Giant Biofill XL is responsible for obtaining healthy and clear pond water.
The base of the Giant Biofill XL consists of a large filter with a gross capacity of approximately 210 litres. It is possible to increase the filtration capacity by connecting several filters together using the connection sleeve provided. The filter is equipped with a drain hole located at the bottom center of the filter. The closure system opens easily to allow emptying of silt and waste.
Easy setup
Connect the filter to a pump to circulate the pool water. Use a filter hose to connect the pump outlet to the filter water inlet. Place the filter outside the pond and submerge the pump. Activate the UV-C lamp and pump through a power outlet connection. Read the instruction manual first!
Tapes
The filter contains 4 removable cassettes to facilitate the rinsing of the filter media.
- The first cassette is intended to receive the UV-C Unit and Mineral Filterstart module. The cover is designed to be able to connect an air pump.
- The second cassette is filled with biobeads. This filtering mass ensures effective filtration of impurities and considerably promotes the development of micro-organisms.
- The third cassette is fitted with a coarse-structured Japanese mat. These mats filter fine dust particles from the water and will have attached billions of microorganisms by the end of the start-up period.
- The fourth cassette contains a Japanese carpet with a fine structure. This filter medium removes the smallest dirt particles from the water.
The supplied UV-C module easily mounts into the hinged mechanism of the cassette lid. The UV-C lamp clarifies cloudy pond water in a short time while the UV-C light kills pathogenic parasites.
A vial of Bacterial Filterstart was added to the filter to initiate the biological process. Mineral Filterstart increases hardness and promotes a good balance of minerals.
