Ornamental grasses include several plants. For example the papyrus.

There are two broad categories: perennial grasses and annual grasses.

Perennial grasses, trendy garden plants

So, when we talk about perennial grasses, we are talking about imposing plants even if some are small.

This plant, Calamagrostis Overdam with its narrow and upright foliage and its variegated color of green and white is a plant that is very decorative.

The giant of perennial grasses is miscanthus: it is not invasive. Not all perennial grasses are invasive.

One of the grasses which is also decorative, this time by its foliage and not by its flowers is the Imperata cylindrica Red Baron. With these leaves which all become reddish, this plant is of a modest and classy beauty at the same time.

And finally, this grass with blue foliage, Blue Fescue. A plant that has only made small flower spikes, but which is especially sought after for its foliage. It is easy to maintain and enhances its surroundings.

Annual grasses.

Annual grasses give us a very light or very structured appearance depending on their accumulation. You can stack them with others, for example with small begonias, or as a feature, pot them alone or arrange them together.

The advantage of annual grasses is that they are very resistant to frost. They can therefore be kept for a long time, until autumn, or until the first snowfalls.

In autumn, begonias, etc. are damaged by frost, just pick them and replace them with a beautiful little blooming autumn chrysanthemum, or some decorative gourds and pumpkins to make a beautiful autumn hot pot, and keep the color until let it snow.

Ornamental grasses are hardy plants that are easy to grow.

Their outlines, leaves and spikes exist and remain attractive almost all year round. For some of them, they are very decorative until winter.
