Kutani ceramic 8.5 x 7.5 cm
The origins of Kutani pottery date back to the 17th century to the present day. This Shibui-style piece, with its expressive lines and bright colors, is referred to as ao-Kutani or blue and green Kutani, as these colors are dominant in its design. The main decorative motifs of ao-Kutani are flowers, birds, and fruits. This incense burner is inspired by Ko-Kutani (Old Kutani), so called to distinguish it from works made from the 19th century onwards.
In Japan, these beautiful incense burners are objects of worship, precious gifts and an essential element of home decoration. Fill your incense burner with rice ash so that you can stick the incense sticks in it. Having no bamboo support, they then burn completely without leaving a trace.
