The fragrance of this incense was designed on two base notes. The first is made up of sandalwood, medicinal herbs and musk that generate tranquility. The second is fully floral, it is the most emblematic flower of Japan: that of the cherry tree. The warm aroma of Meiko Shibayama brings us to a state of joy and serenity naturally. Incense that emits little smoke.
[Mei] famous [koh] aroma [Shiba] herb [yama] mountain. Meiko Shibayama's clever blend of woody and floral takes us to a beautiful meadow flooded by spring sunlight. Its aroma is tender like the memories of our childhood, when we ran among the wild grasses. In Japan, aristocrats used to hold a poetry contest called Shiba-kurabe to praise the beauty of these herbs. For example, this verse from Fujiwara no Tomoe:
“To gaze upon the green meadows of Unahi, where horses run free, comforts my old age.” Excerpt from Shinsen Rokujo Wakashu.
This format is ideal if you are a big consumer of incense. It is also an original idea to make a scented gift!
