JBL ArtemioSal - Salt for growing Artemia nauplii

Artemia salina (Artemia) live in salt lakes and therefore need salt water.

It is very easy to obtain by mixing salt (JBL ArtemioSal) and tap water.

Theoretically, salt water can also be obtained by mixing coarse salt with water, but coarse salt is fundamentally different from sea salt:

it contains minerals and trace elements not found in simple coarse salt (NaCl).

Artemia hatching rates are significantly higher in seawater.

JBL ArtemioSal has another special feature: microalgae have been added as nutrients for brine shrimp, because the yolk sac only feeds the hatched shrimp for a very short time.

They are then dependent on algae for their food.

If you want to raise brine shrimp eggs yourself, you need to put them in salt water.

JBL ArtemioSal salt was developed to produce this salty water.

The small Artemia crustaceans hatch in this water and then become the perfect live food for your aquarium fish.

The micro-algae contained in the salty mixture are used to feed the small newborn crustaceans.
