Nite-Out II does not replace investigating the cause of high nitrite or ammonia levels. Overstocking, excessive feeding, an undersized filter, insufficient oxygen, or biological filtration that is not mature enough may also be responsible for the problem.
Nitrifying bacteria also need sufficient oxygen and adequate carbonate hardness (KH) to function effectively.
