SALT ELECTROLYSIS DISINFECTION
A good alternative to chlorine is salt electrolysis disinfection. By adding salt to the pool water, the salt in the water is converted into chlorine in the salt electrolysis cell. This salt is not consumed; once the chlorine has done its job, it turns back into salt. During the season, at most, a little salt needs to be added to the pool water because some of the salt water is lost when backwashing the sand filter. For proper operation, most salt electrolysis units operate with a salt concentration of 3 to 6 grams of salt per liter of pool water. Easy to extend with the relay control box (72454) via a single multi-core cable. This box is equipped with four 230V relays for controlling the pump, lighting, waterfall, garden lighting, etc. 3-year warranty.

In recent years, low-salt electrolysis/hydrolysis has become a very popular disinfection method for swimming pools and swimming ponds/biological pools. The major advantage is that hydrolysis produces powerful disinfectants from water by splitting it into O and H atoms. These O and H atoms can then form the following oxidizing agents: O (atomic oxygen), O2 (oxygen), O3 (ozone), H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide), and OH (hydroxyl radical). These oxidants are just as powerful as or more powerful than chlorine (see table), but they do not produce negative by-products (such as chloramines). After reacting with an organic substance, they return to the water. At salinities of 1.5 to 2 g/l, a very small amount of free chlorine is also produced, providing a residual effect in pools. For swimming ponds, a maximum salt content of 1 g/l is recommended when chlorine is not desired. 3-year warranty. The new Elite Connect Cellguard units come as standard with the pH S-Driver module, a pH sensor, and a dosing pump (model 70054) thanks to the automatic cleaning system. They therefore do not need to be ordered separately!
Due to the Cellguard’s automatic cleaning process, the pool pump must be controlled by the Elite Connect. For single-speed pumps, this can be done via relay contact R1 (with an optional relay). For variable-speed pumps, this can be easily controlled via the VSP pump control module (73471).
