Solutions against herons - To scare herons away

Protect your fish from herons: nets, electric fences, fishing line, motion-activated sprinkler, laser, ultrasound, decoy herons and reflective balls. Choose by pond size and the look you want; combining two solutions is often more effective.

How to choose a heron deterrent?

• Physical barrier: net or low fence around the pond (Heron Stop, electric fence).
• Scaring: a Garden Sniper sprinkler, laser or ultrasound startles the bird.
• Visual deterrent: decoy heron, Scarybird kite or reflective balls, moved regularly so the bird does not get used to them.
• Surface: PondProtect floating barrier for larger ponds, when a net is not an option.
