Winter protection

Protect your pond and fish in winter: air pumps, heated de-icers, thermometers and leaf nets. Choose by pond volume, how harsh the winter is and whether you keep fish.

How to protect your pond for winter?

  • Volume: Secoh aeration kits sized for 1 to 80 m³, Aquaoxy for small ponds up to 5 m³.
  • Gas exchange: an air pump or an IceFree keeps a hole open in the ice.
  • Temperature: a floating thermometer tells you when to reduce and then stop feeding.
  • Leaves: put a CoverNet or Aquanet net in place before they fall.
