Rust accelerator for corten steel products (acid-free)

Our Corten steel products are delivered unrusted. The oxidation of Corten steel takes about 4 to 5 months, depending on the weather conditions. With our biological rust accelerator you can make your product rust faster.

AQUIGARDEN biological rust accelerator is specially designed for the accelerated and controlled oxidation of weather-resistant steel, such as Corten steel. After treatment with our rust accelerator, your product will more quickly obtain the characteristic orange-brown color of Corten steel.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE OF ORGANIC RUST ACCELERATOR:

1. Degrease the Corten steel surface and allow it to dry completely.
2. Spray the rust accelerator on the surface.
3. Spread the rust accelerator using a brush or roller. With 500 ml you can treat about 10 m2

For more uniform rust formation, we recommend applying a second coat of rust accelerator. To do this, follow the steps above again.

Corten steel is a metal alloy composed of iron, copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel and chromium. When exposed to the open air, the material becomes covered with a protective layer of rust due to oxidation. This natural rust layer protects the material from further corrosion.
