Iwachu Orizuru Incense Holder, Gold

The word orizuri, literally ori - folded and zuru - crane, refers to the paper crane made according to the art of origami. This iconic design represents a red-crowned crane, a large wading bird revered in Asia, particularly in Japan.

Remember the good omens associated with cranes every time you light incense! First of all, it is a symbol of longevity, as they can live for up to 40 years, an advanced age for birds. Because they fiercely defend their nests against predators, the Japanese believe that they bring protection and good fortune to the family. They also believe that souls on their way to paradise travel on their wings. Another characteristic of cranes is that they keep the same partner throughout their lives, making them an archetype of fidelity and loyalty. The golden color of this incense holder is associated with wealth and abundance.
