Tortoises are foodies and won't eat just anything, but they do like some things that they shouldn't eat. For example, tomatoes, bananas, citrus fruits and meaty foods are to be avoided.
The composition of JBL PROTERRA VERGABIL and its enrichment with healthy vegetables were developed in collaboration with Petra Kölle, a veterinary surgeon at the University of Munich. It is important that the mixture of vegetables and other plant components is species-appropriate. Vegetables, fruits and even flowers should only be added to the basic plant food in an appropriate proportion, as is the case in the scientifically correct mixture of the JBL PROTERRA range with HERBIL, VEGABIL, FRUCTIL and FLORSIL.

With the JBL PROTERRA VEGABIL, your turtles get an ideal complete food. Of course, you can also collect greenery and herbaceous plants in summer to supplement the basic diet. The other JBL PROTERRA food varieties: HERBIL, FRUCTIL and FLORSIL are an ideal and species-appropriate supplement to the JBL PROTERRA HERBIL. Variety is welcome for all turtles.

This information, taken directly from nature, is extremely valuable, as it is hardly available otherwise.
The aim should always be to care for animals in a way that respects the needs of their species and ideally to ensure their offspring in order to reduce the number of animals taken from the wild. The reproduction of some species is certainly not absolutely necessary, because the species sold in the trade are bred or their population is not endangered, but JBL considers it desirable to ensure the reproduction of pets.
