Laser Guard - High-performance anti-heron system - Velda
The colorful fish that evolve in a basin with clear waters are easy prey for herons. In spring, herons search for food for their offspring. In summer, when the young herons have left the nest, they come to fish themselves at the edge of the water. In autumn, food for herons becomes scarce and pond fish are easy prey.
Fish are the heron's main food source. Its long beak can cause fatal injuries to large specimens as well. After a successful attempt, the heron returns to feed in the pond until it is emptied of its fish.
The Laser Guard's motion sensor detects approaching intruders and has a range of approximately 12 meters and a detection angle of 100°. It acts very effectively against herons, among others, thanks to three methods:
- The variable frequency light flashes create an unpleasant commotion on the premises.
- Herons view green laser beams as dangerous moving obstacles.
- The sound of a fellow heron in distress, the barking of dogs and the frightening cry of a poisonous poison dart frog definitely deters herons from returning.
This scaring method lasts about 60 seconds per cycle. Frightened intruders flee and the fish are safe in the pond again.
