ProTerra JBL Pescarus - Treats made from whole fish and shrimp for all pond turtles and water turtles
- Gently dried, whole fish and shrimp provide valuable nutrients, just like in nature. Food size: shrimp (approx. 3 cm), fish up to approx. 9 cm.
- The ideal supplement to other foods, e.g. JBL PROTERRA CRUSTARUS, species-appropriate and source of energy. Dried fish and shrimp float on the water surface.
- JBL expeditions have shown that fish are the main food source for most species of aquatic turtles and, in addition to protein, they provide a large proportion of the very important phosphorus and calcium.
- No added artificial colours or preservatives. 100% recyclable box, lid, seal and label.
- Contents: 1 waterproof and lightproof box/bucket, fresh-keeping seal, containing dried fish and shrimp. Measuring cup in the lid.
Specially tailored to the nutritional needs of water turtles and marsh turtles. Most of these turtles are omnivorous. However, they particularly prefer to eat fish and other aquatic animals such as crustaceans, molluscs, insects and often even aquatic plants. JBL offers a wide range of products for a diet tailored to the needs of every size of turtle. Dried fish, crustaceans, molluscs and insects are at the forefront and correspond to a natural, species-appropriate diet.
More good reasons to use JBL food Impressive palatability in turtles Field research with feeding in the wild. Minimal vitamin loss thanks to hermetically sealed packaging. JBL food boxes and buckets are 100% recyclable since the box, lid, label and lid are made entirely of PP mono-material. No need to remove the label from the box, as is normally the case with other food boxes. We were also able to reduce the thickness of the plastic by using a very high-quality polypropylene (PP). The use of polypropylene ensures full recyclability at the end of the product's life. The recycled material is used for the manufacture of new products, which minimises the spread of pollutants into the environment.

JBL expeditions often provide an opportunity to visit tortoise habitats, whether in deserts or, more often, in tropical wetlands. Observations made about their lifestyle and feeding habits are incorporated into the development of JBL food varieties. This information, taken directly from nature, is extremely valuable, as it is hardly available otherwise.
The aim should always be to care for animals in a way that respects the needs of their species and ideally to ensure their offspring in order to reduce the number of animals taken from the wild. The reproduction of some species is not absolutely necessary, since the species sold commercially are bred or their population is not endangered, but JBL considers it desirable to ensure the reproduction of pets.
