How to remove limestone from a swimming pool without emptying it?

Limestone on a polyester swimming pool which accumulates in the form of a deposit and on the walls in your polyester swimming pool can damage your accessories: skimmers, bottom drains, ... How to prevent its appearance and eliminate it?

There are solutions where you have to empty the polyester pool and then spread a product and clean it, then refill it. However, in this micro-guide, we would like to discuss with you the methods to clean without emptying.

Why do I have limestone?

It is often due to too high a concentration of limestone already present in your tap water. It is often responsible for irritation when you swim, and little in the long term to damage your accessories. When we talk about limestone, we also talk about water hardness.

pH too high

Often, in water with too high a pH, there is an appearance of tart. Under the effect of a pH that is too high, the calcium present in your swimming pool solidifies and turns into cake. It is important to measure the water hardness (TAC) when testing your pool water.

It may also be that evaporation during periods of high heat forms a pie line at the water line of your pool.

What is limestone?

This limestone or tarte is hardness, a hard substance. You can see it appear by observing the water line (appearance of foam on the water line of your pool). It will eventually harden and will be more and more complicated to remove from your pool.

This limestone is due to three mineral salts naturally contained in the water:

  • calcium carbonate
  • calcium silicate
  • magnesium content
