During the start-up phase of a new aquarium, the accumulation of nitrites (“nitrite spike”) is a threat after drug treatment or filter change, because the number of filter bacteria present is insufficient to reduce toxic nitrites in nutrients for plants. A nitrite content of 1.0 mg/l can already be harmful to fish. sera Nitrite-minus provides rapid relief in the event of heavy pollution and immediately removes up to 1.5 mg/l of nitrites per dosage. It converts nitrites into organic amines, which are used by filter bacteria. sera Nitrite-minus is very well tolerated by ornamental fish, invertebrates and plants and can be dosed up to 5 times.
