About the tree frog

The Field Frog belongs to the true Ranidae family. It resembles the common frog with a more tapered head. Like all its congeners, it prefers a humid and shaded environment with watercourses between the ponds. It is easy to recognize in the spring because the male turns blue during the mating season. It is more easily spotted at dusk when it looks for insects, spiders and snails. The Field Frog hibernates buried in the ground or immersed in water.
