During the start-up phase of a new pond or aquarium, the accumulation of nitrites (“nitrite peak”) is a threat after a drug treatment or a filter change, because the number of filter bacteria present is insufficient to reduce toxic nitrites into nutrients for plants. A nitrite content of 1.0 mg/l can already be harmful to fish. sera Nitrite-minus provides rapid relief in the event of heavy pollution and immediately removes up to 1.5 mg/l of nitrites per dosage. It converts nitrites into organic amines, which are used by filter bacteria. sera Nitrite-minus is very well tolerated by ornamental fish, invertebrates and plants and can be dosed up to 5 times.
