How to naturally reduce limescale in swimming pool water? How to remove limescale without emptying it? Do you live in an area where the water is loaded with limescale and are you looking for solutions to reduce limescale in the water? We explain it to you right here in this micro-guide.
Hard water contains cations with a + charge, often in particular CA2+ and MG2+. These ions are not harmful to your health but often produce limescale deposits on the walls of your pool.
All waters (almost) contain limestone. Water hardness will depend on the rock formation that the water encounters on its way to the water table. Often water flowing over granite or sandy soil will be more showery (Brittany, Massif Central, Ardennes, etc.). Limestone is actually calcium and magnesium.
It can be annoying for the swimming pool, unlike a garden pond which needs a hard one to improve the well-being of the fish and the development of the plants. Lime-free water will become acidic. It will therefore be more corrosive.
To remove limescale from your pool before filling:
Here is a list of the best anti-limestone solutions for your swimming pool:
Often a softener contains cartridges loaded with sodium ions. In a swimming pool, limestone or scale is a white deposit, which is found near the metal parts of the swimming pool, or for example on polyester walls. Often, it is identified by white foam on the surface which will settle on the walls.
If your pH is stable, limestone will deposit less on the walls. It is important to check the pH of your pool.
If, despite all this information, you are unable to eliminate the limestone in your pool, we recommend that you empty the pool (be careful to protect the walls well to avoid collapses). Then, there are products from the CTX range which reduce limescale on the walls.
