  • After two hours, check how the water level has changed in the pool;
  • If the water level drops quickly from the initial mark, there is most likely a leak.

3. Perform the water leak test using a bucket

  • Fill a bucket with water and place it on the pool step;
  • To strengthen the bucket, put bricks in it;
  • Mark the water level on the bucket for an initial reference;
  • After 24 hours, check how much the water level has changed in the pool and compare it to the initial benchmark level;
  • If the water level has dropped by more than 1.5 cm, there is a leak in your pond or swimming pool;

4. Identify the precise location of the leak

  • Completely unplug the filtration system and wait until the water level has completely stabilized;
  • If the water level has changed and remains around the skimmer, this is most likely the cause of the leak;
  • If the water level has stopped moving at the pool lights, the leak is somewhere in that area;
  • If you notice a large flow of water when the pump is running, this indicates a problem with the hydraulic circuit of the pump;
  • It is also necessary to check the pump filter and how it is attached;
  • These problems are rather technical, and to manage on your own requires a precise hand and adequate equipment, which is why it is best to call on a professional for this kind of task.

Counter-circulation is ensured by a side opening in the wall of the swimming pool which makes it possible to have a closed hydraulic circuit.
