These plants are young and need a gentle start.

Ideally, place these baskets on a shallow shelf in the pond, where only the top of the plant is at the water line, and allow them to establish themselves.

Alternatively, to start, set them submerged in a pot or planter so they can grow. Then move them into the pond once they are a little bigger.
