Biological filtration media to remove nitrates

sera siporax Nitrate-minus Professional is a high-performance filter media for the biological breakdown of nitrates and, at the same time, nitrites and ammonium. Denitrification is optimally increased and maximized by the biopolymer ball fitted to the siporax ring. The degradable biopolymer serves as a carbon source for denitrifying bacteria.

The biopolymer ball not only maximizes the biological filtration performance of the unique sintered glass tube, but also increases filter maintenance intervals in two ways. In addition to the removal of harmful substances, the special structure of the ball optimizes the flow of water and thus improves the transport of substances to the ring of siporax inside it. Thus, sera siporax Nitrate-minus Professional is a long-lasting, virtually maintenance-free filter media. The number of water changes can also be reduced. Water parameters can be improved with siporax Nitrate-minus Professional, especially in large community aquariums and/or in cichlid aquariums with a large number of fish.

sera siporax Nitrate-minus Professional can be combined with the available siporax products, such as siporax Professional, siporax mini Professional and siporax pond Professional, while increasing the breakdown of harmful substances by adding carbon.

Biopolymer balls are broken down by bacteria over time and dissolve. To renew the carbon source, it suffices to replace them.

Note: In aquariums with only plants or in aquariums with dense vegetation, thus having high nitrogen requirements, this filter medium may require additional fertilization with NPK (e.g. with sera flore 4 plant) .
