- Water analysis allowing simultaneous control of the six main values.
- Measures pH, total hardness, and carbonate hardness (GH + KH), as well as nitrite (NO2-), nitrate (NO3-), and chlorine (Cl2) content.
- Complete information and advice on possible countermeasures are available in the user manual.
- Tip: with the Tetra Aquatics app, you can quickly, reliably, and easily determine the water values of your pond using your smartphone.
- KH – Carbonate hardness ensures pH stability. The recommended value is generally between 3° and 10° dH.
Tetra test strips allow you to simultaneously check the six main water values in your aquarium quickly, reliably, and easily. Simply dip and swirl a strip in the water for one to two seconds, then shake off the excess liquid to measure its key parameters in just 60 seconds.
The color chart lets you know if these values conform to recommended levels. You measure pH, total hardness, and carbonate hardness (GH + KH), as well as nitrite (NO2-), nitrate (NO3-), and chlorine (Cl2) content in your aquarium water.
The aquarium fauna, including fish, is very sensitive to excessive pH fluctuations that affect their well-being. Total hardness influences the vital functions of fish, and carbonate hardness affects pH stability (pH buffer). The test strips also measure nitrite and nitrate levels in the aquarium water.
Particularly harmful even at very low concentrations, nitrites must be undetectable in the water. Nitrates, on the other hand, are nutrients that promote plant growth, but in excessive amounts, NO3- can be dangerous for fish and cause algae overgrowth. The water can also contain chlorine, which is harmful to its fauna and flora.
Like nitrites, chlorine must be undetectable in the aquarium. You can use the Tetra Aquatics app to quickly and reliably determine water values using your smartphone.
