Complete food for medium sized sturgeons

  • Complete feed containing the correct protein-fat ratio of 3:1, taking into account the NEO Index, water temperature, function, animal size and age.
  • Contains salmon, prawns, squid, spirulina and gammarus to feed sturgeons like in the wild.
  • Food size M (6 mm) for fish from 30 to 60 cm.
  • Sinking pearls containing 40% protein, 12% fat, 2% crude fiber and 8% crude ash.
  • Medium edible pearls in resealable bag, airtight, watertight and lightproof to maintain their quality.

Sturgeons are very special fish: the shape of their body already reveals their way of life: they swim at the bottom of the water and by probing the ground with their barbels (chemical sensor organ), they look for small invertebrates whose they feed in the wild. The composition of the JBL ProPond Sterlet product and its way of sinking into the water have been adapted to these feeding habits (higher proportion of invertebrates). Although sturgeons learn to eat at the surface of the water, this mode of feeding contradicts their natural behavior and exposes them to the risk of swallowing too much air. Sturgeons should always be fed with their own food, since its composition is different. They might also unintentionally injure the lining of the koi with their scutes while fighting over food. In practice, you can feed your goldfish and koi on the surface of the water in one corner of the tank and feed the sturgeons their sinking food in the other corner.
