Nite Out II was specially developed for ponds with fish. It contains a very special combination of nitrifying bacteria which break down ammonia and nitrite via a natural biological process (nitrification). Cultures in MICROBE-LIFT Nite Out II initiate, enhance or stabilize the process of nitrification, which helps render toxic ammonia harmless. The liquid nitrifying bacteria in Nite Out II contain carefully selected bacterial strains of Nitrosomonas, Nitrospira, and Nitrobacter. Nitrosomonas converts ammonia into nitrite while nitrobacter and nitrospira convert nitrite into nitrate.

• Explanation regarding the use of Nite Out II and the initiation of the nitrification process:
• Before using Nite Out II, it is recommended to first apply MICROBE-LIFT Clean & Clear in order to degrade other organic wastes since high concentrations of these can hinder or even completely prevent the nitrification process. Wait 1-2 days for Clean & Clear to work and then apply Nite Out II. In addition, it is essential to first test the pH value (it must be between 7.5 and 8.7) and to ensure that the alkalinity is sufficient (provisional hardness or KH). The KH value must always be at least 3. This is essential because nitrifying bacteria use it as an energy source. For 1 part of ammonia, 7 parts of alkalinity are consumed! Therefore, without a correct KH value, no nitrification is possible! To increase the KH value, use for example AquaForte BioStabil or Kusuri Bio Balance until you obtain a value of > 3 mg/l.
